There are many reasons that bleeding from the rectal area can occur and it’s not always due to bleeding hemroids. If you have hemroids however, the worst case that can happen is bleeding hemroids. Seeing blood coming out of your anus doesn’t necessitate self-treatment of a hemroid though. Consulting a physician is important before taking any kind of medication for this condition. However, the counter drugs are not really safe and advisable. Controlled dieting and eating wisely is the best course of action if you’re looking for a truly effective solution to your hemroids.

Bleeding hemroids-why do they occur?

Bleeding hemroids occur inside the anal tract most of the time. Therefore, they are known as bleeding internal hemroids in general. Excessive abrasion and strain in the anal tract are the causes and if not treated promptly, can get aggravated. This occurrence happens when the internal veins of the anal tract grow in size. Blood-clotting within the blood vessel causes this enlargement of the veins- a condition called varicose veins. Hence, the veins bulge-up and swell in a dangerous manner.

The occurrence of bleeding necessitates these veins to get cut or damaged though. You will see blood streaks on your stool when you visit the toilet. When you become aware of this condition, a prompt visit to the doctor is needed. The occurrence of bleeding is also caused usually by formation of cracks or fissures in the walls of the anus which is equivalent to an external burst of the veins. It would be in your best interest to get a check-up for any other sources of bleeding if the physician doesn’t see any cracks or fissures along the anal walls as the situation could lead to something more serious.

Signs of bleeding hemroids

Indications of bleeding hemroids would obviously include bleeding and oozing of blood from your excretory tract. The blood that will be coming out will be bright red in color and very fresh. If you see that the blood coming out is very dark in color then it is an indication of infection further up the anal canal. This means that you are not bleeding from any sort of hemroid.

Hemroid patients commonly bleed and can actually suffer from anemia if there is too much blood loss. Usually though, blood loss from hemroids is only minimal and these indications are already for extreme cases.

Therefore, if you notice you have any signs of blood from your anus, you should check if it is bleeding hemroid and take the necessary steps. Eating the right foods and maintaining balanced diet can be most effective in letting you avoid the onset of bleeding hemroids.
